Stockholm offers more than just coffee and buns when it comes to fika – it’s an integral part of Swedish culture. The city is brimming with countless cafés catering to all tastes. Join me on an inspiring journey through Stockholm’s top fika spots, and discover what makes fika in Stockholm so special.
What Does Fika in Stockholm Really Mean?
If you’re not already familiar, let me explain: fika is a pause to enjoy coffee, tea, or another warm beverage, often accompanied by something delicious to eat, typically in the company of friends, family, or colleagues. But it’s also a mindset – a reminder to slow down and appreciate the small moments in life. In Sweden, fika is a way of life.
Stora Bageriet
A bakery with a long history and incredibly delicious pastries. Their rustic bread and perfectly balanced cardamom buns are worth the detour. This café is very popular, so be prepared to queue for their buns. Even though the line might seem long, I promise it’s worth it. One of the highlights, in my opinion, is savoring a cardamom bun from Stora Bageriet.
The cozy ambiance and consistently high quality make this place special.
Lillebrors Bageri - The best choice for a cinnamonbun
A favorite among locals and tourists alike – and my personal favorite too! Every time I visit Stockholm, I make sure to stop here. The buns are legendary, especially the cinnamon and cardamom ones that simply melt in your mouth. Lillebrors is also famous for its croissants – don’t miss them!
Sweets by Camilla
Where art meets baking. Anyone familiar with Camilla Hamid has likely dreamed of tasting her creations, and they certainly don’t disappoint. Camilla’s cupcakes and cakes are as stunning as they are delicious – a luxurious experience for any fika lover in Stockholm.
You should really consider going here. It´s simply really good!

Krumel
One of Södermalm’s most charming spots, ideal for those who enjoy cozy settings and innovative pastries. It’s a small café with a compact space, so queues can form easily here too. Their chocolate cookies are magical, but my personal favorite is the crème brûlée cake. The friendly staff is a definite plus.
As the sign says: cookies, coffee & crumbs. Do you need anything more?

For a fika in a picturesque setting, this spot is unbeatable. Nestled in a green oasis, Vintervikens Trädgårdskafé offers organic and locally produced treats. Whether you visit in summer, when the flowers are in full bloom, or in winter, when it transforms into a fairytale-like escape with a warming fire, this hidden gem is well worth a visit.
Bakverket
A small gem in Södermalm where everything feels personal and genuine. Here, you can enjoy a classic fika in Stockholm with traditional pastries in a cozy atmosphere.
