Prague is a fantastic city to visit for a weekend! There is so much to see and do here. The culture, food, prices, and people make it one of the best places I’ve been to in Europe. So what should i not miss in Prague? I have made a list with my suggestions what not to miss!
Top 13 things to see and do in Prague!
1. Go for a stroll on Charles Bridge
One of the major attractions in Prague is Charles Bridge. Construction of the bridge began in 1357, making it the second oldest bridge in all of the Czech Republic. A must-see when visiting Prague.
2. Magnificent Prague Castle
Another obvious destination in Prague. Prague Castle is a massive fortress that houses several important sites for Prague’s history, such as Golden Lane, St. Vitus Cathedral, and the Royal Palace.
3. The old Jewish Quarter
Located north of the Old Town in Prague’s city center. Here, you’ll find the old Jewish cemetery and several synagogues. Here is all the info you need about the Jewish Quarter
4. Do not miss in Prague the Dancing house
In contrast to the many historical and old buildings in Prague, the Dancing House is built in a modern style and is well worth a visit.
5. Creme de la creme
In the heart of Old Town, you’ll find this place that, in my opinion, offers the absolute best Italian ice cream in Prague!
6. Head of Franz Kafka
The Head of Franz Kafka is an impressive metal statue created in honor of Franz Kafka. As the name might reveal, the statue is a large head depicting Kafka and even moves.
7. Terasa u Prince, rooftop bar that you should not miss in Prague
A hidden gem that not many tourists know about. Right on the square in Old Town, in front of the astronomical clock, you’ll find a restaurant called Terasa u Prince. Here, one of the few available rooftop bars in Prague is tucked away, right in front of you! The view up here is perfect over the old town. They’ve also created an Instagram-friendly little viewpoint where you can take fantastic photos!
8. Tunnel of books
The Tunnel of Books is also considered a hidden gem, especially if you’re looking for a stylish Instagram picture! It’s easy to find, and unsurprisingly, it’s in the lobby of Prague’s city library.
9. LAB
LAB is a pub/bar located along the waterfront in Prague. What makes this bar special is its unique design and location. It’s actually an old boat vault turned into a bar. The entrance is a large round glass dome, and inside this trendy bar, they serve all kinds of cocktails and beers in abundance.
10. Do not miss in Prague Café Chloe, a very cozy café
When it comes to picturesque cafes in Prague, Café Chloe is the place to go. A pink paradise! Additionally, Chloe offers incredibly good breakfast/snacks; definitely worth a visit!
11. U Kroka, restaurant in Prague
One of our favorite things to do when we travel is to try the local food. We always make sure to carefully check that we visit authentic places. We did the same this time and found a place called U Kroka – we were really not disappointed; it was so delicious!
U Kroka is a bit outside Old Town, but if you want to visit an authentic Czech restaurant and not a tourist trap, this is the place to go! The Dancing House is also on the way, and LAB bar on the way back, perfect!
12. Prague Astronomical Clock, you should not miss in Prague
Prague’s Astronomical Clock is one of Prague’s biggest, if not the biggest, attractions. The clock is the oldest functioning clock in the world, truly a mechanical wonder and a must-see in Prague!
13. Lokál –
If you’re looking for a place to have a cold beer, Lokál is a perfect place to go. Lokál can be found in five different locations around Prague, making it easily accessible wherever you are. Try a Pilsner straight from the tap or, if you feel like it, have a slightly darker Kozel. Whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed!
