Noosa is one of the most amazing destinations on Australia’s east coast, known for its pristine beaches, scenic hiking trails, and relaxed atmosphere. In this guide, I’ll share the top 10 things to do in Noosa—a place that has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation. We spent three months living in Noosa ourselves, so we have the best tips for you.
Explore Noosa National Park
No trip to Noosa is complete without a visit to the iconic Noosa National Park. This park is one of the most popular attractions in the area and offers a variety of hiking trails for all levels. The Coastal Track is our favorite, featuring spectacular viewpoints like Hell’s Gates and serene coves like Tea Tree Bay.
During your hike, you might also spot wildlife such as koalas and dolphins. It’s the perfect place to immerse yourself in Noosa’s natural beauty.

Spend the day at Main Beach
We spent a lot of time on the beach here. Main Beach is the heart of Noosa’s beach culture. The beach is known for its calm and clear waters, making it ideal for swimming and sunbathing. With its sheltered location, it’s one of the most popular beaches in the area, especially for families and beginners in water sports.
After a day at the beach, it’s easy to take a stroll up to Hastings Street, where you’ll find cafés and restaurants for a well-deserved break.
Surf in Noosa – A Mecca for Surf Enthusiasts
Noosa is one of Australia’s top destinations for surfing. With its consistent waves and stunning coastline, it attracts surfers from all over the world. Are you a beginner? No worries! Local surf schools like Noosa Learn to Surf offer lessons for all skill levels.
For experienced surfers, First Point is a classic spot with excellent conditions. It’s no exaggeration to say that surfing is one of the best activities to experience in Noosa.
Stroll and Shop on Hastings Street in Noosa
Hastings Street is one of Noosa’s most iconic streets. Here, you can combine shopping with fantastic food and drinks. The street is filled with upscale boutiques, art galleries, and cozy cafés—making it the perfect place to spend a few hours.
Take a break from shopping and enjoy a cup of coffee or some ice cream while people-watching. Hastings Street also comes alive in the evening, with a variety of upscale restaurants showcasing the best of Noosa’s culinary scene. My tip: choose one of the beachfront restaurants to pair your meal with a stunning view of the ocean.
Paddle on the Noosa River
For a more tranquil experience, a trip on the Noosa River is highly recommended. Rent a kayak or SUP board and glide through the calm waters, surrounded by lush mangrove forests.
During our time here, this was one of my favorite activities. Paddling on the river at sunset felt like pure therapy for the soul. For those who prefer a guided experience, many companies offer boat cruises along the river.
Take a Dip in Noosa’s Fairy Pools
The famous Fairy Pools in Noosa National Park are a hidden gem and a must-visit for adventurous travelers. These natural rock pools, filled with crystal-clear seawater, provide a relaxing spot for a swim.
The Fairy Pools are also one of the most Instagrammable locations in the area. Be sure to arrive early to avoid crowds and capture the perfect shot of this hidden paradise.
Go for a Sunday Trip to the Farmers Market
If you want to experience the authentic taste of Noosa and its local culture, the Noosa Farmers Market is a must-visit. Every Sunday morning, this vibrant market comes to life, filled with fresh produce, handcrafted goods, and a sense of community that reflects the heart of Noosa. For both food lovers and curious travelers, the market offers a delightful mix of flavors, scents, and unique products. The Farmers Market was one of our favorite weekend activities, and we made sure to visit every Sunday.

Enjoy the seafood at the Boathouse
Food lovers will adore Noosa’s dining scene. Here, you’ll find everything from casual eateries to upscale restaurants. Noosa Boathouse, located right on the river, serves some of the best seafood I’ve ever tasted.
Try local specialties like oysters, crab, and prawns. Pair these with a glass of Australian wine to fully enjoy the flavors of Noosa.
Explore Eumundi Markets
A short drive away, you’ll find the Eumundi Markets, one of the largest and most famous markets in Queensland. Wander through stalls offering everything from handmade jewelry and local crafts to organic produce and street food.
Eumundi Markets are a fantastic place to find unique souvenirs or simply soak in the lively atmosphere. It’s a perfect way to combine an outing with supporting local producers. We always found a few treasures when visiting the Eumundi Markets!
Experience a Sunset Cruise in Noosa
One of the most romantic activities is taking a sunset cruise on the Noosa River. As the sun sets over the horizon, you can enjoy a relaxing boat ride, perhaps with a glass of wine in hand.
It’s the perfect way to end a day full of adventures and see Noosa from a new perspective.
Enjoy the View from Laguna Lookout
If a sunset cruise isn’t in your budget, my recommendation is to head up to Laguna Lookout. Located at the top of Noosa, you can hike or drive to this stunning viewpoint.
The view from here is absolutely mesmerizing. It’s like looking at a postcard, with lush greenery in every direction and mountains on the distant horizon. Visit at sunset for an unforgettable experience—you won’t regret it!
Mount Tinbeerwah – Views Over Noosa Hinterland
Mount Tinbeerwah, located in Tewantin National Park, is one of the most accessible and stunning viewpoints near Noosa. Just a 15-minute drive away, the mountain offers an easy trail leading to breathtaking views of the Noosa Hinterland, Noosa River, and the surrounding coastline.
Explore the Noosa Hinterland
Looking for a break from the coast? The Noosa Hinterland is the perfect destination. Discover charming villages like Montville and Maleny, where you’ll find art galleries, cozy cafés, and spectacular views of the countryside.
A hike in Kondalilla National Park is also a must. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the rainforest and admire its stunning waterfalls. The hinterland is a hidden gem that showcases a completely different side of Noosa—one you simply can’t miss.
